Southern French Alps Project - Ecrins Archaeological Excavations 2007

Since 1998, the Southern French Alps Project has investigated the archaeology of human activity in the high altitude zone (2000m and above) in the Ecrins National Park. During the late Neolithic and Bronze Age, the first built structures appear in this area. This year we excavated structures in two valleys which may well be dated to this period.
